Born from the famous Nelliakattu Mana, a traditional household of Vaidyas (physicians) which is a repository of vast traditional knowledge in Ayurveda handed down through centuries, especially in Shalakya Thantra (ENT), one of the eight branches of Ayurveda that deals with diagnosis and treatment of disease affecting those organs of human body located above the neck. The association of Nelliakattu Mana with Netra Chikitsa (Ayurveda Ophthalmology) goes back to a few centuries.
Over the period since its inception in the year 1999, Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital & Research Centre has metamorphosed into one of the largest Ayurveda healthcare service providers in the country with super specialty in Ayurveda Ophthalmology. Patients from all over India and abroad reach the hospital for solace to their eye ailments and we are proud to say that we have a proven track record of providing effective treatments for various eye ailments like Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Macular Degeneration, Progressive Myopia, Refractive errors, which are the common cause for the loss of sight in millions. Almost 80% of the patients coming to us from all over India and abroad are treated elsewhere by some other discipline of medical science.
Our OP department handles an average of 250 cases per day and IP occupation is around 400 patients per month.
NABH Accreditation: As a benchmark in quality healthcare delivery and excellence in patient care, the hospital has received prestigious accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Health Care Providers (NABH), which is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation program for healthcare organizations.

Green Leaf Certification: The Government of Kerala has put in place a certification scheme for providers of Ayurveda healthcare services. Services providers are granted ‘Green Leaf' certifications based on the facilities on the premises, availability of qualified professionals, infrastructure and services. Government of Kerala, India has awarded Sreedhareeyam with Green Leaf Certification (The Highest Level of Classification for Ayurveda Centers).
ISO 9001-2008: Sreedhareeyam has also received ISO 9001-2008 certification by adhering to the requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system.
